NPSC's Middle School Basketball Clinic  will be used to prepare players for basketball tryouts. There will be a focus on offensive and defensive skill development and building positive habits that lead to better efficiency on the basketball court. Players will perform drills that improve their basketball IQ and that improve the impact they make from an individual and team aspect. Emphasis will be placed on effective ball handling, moving without the ball to get open through using screens and effective cutting, perfecting offensive scoring moves, proper shooting form and mechanics, making smart decisions with and without the basketball, and improving and developing a defensive mindset. 

Girls ages 11-13 or Grades 6-8

Clinics will have a max of  16  players per session

Cost: $100

Boys Clinic is held in the fall

Brian Freeland has been coaching basketball for over 20 years. He spent time as an assistant boy's varsity basketball coach at Altavista High School, Floyd County High School, and Magna Vista High School. As a head varsity boy's basketball coach, Brian led Lynchburg Christian Academy to their highest win total in 2000-2001 and was named Valley District Coach of the Year in 2005-2006 for leading Rockbridge County High School to their highest win total. Since 2010, Brian has been coaching youth league basketball teams. He has ran a variety of basketball clinics and individual training for both boy's and girl's around the community.
