Soccer Day Camp

Looking for an activity for your child to do during the summer?  NPSC's Summer Soccer Camp is the perfect camp to allow children to take their training to the next level during the off season.  The camp is going to be coached by Coach Josh Smith.

Coach Josh Smith has been coaching soccer for 9 years with Recreational, Travel, and High School experience.

Coach Smith's experience includes:

  • Varsity Assistant Coach, Culpeper County High School, Culpeper VA 2016-2017
  • Varsity Head Coach, Goalkeeper Coach, Fauquier High School, Warrenton VA 2017-Present
  • Goalkeeper Coach, Garfield High School, Woodbridge VA 2017-Present
  • Coach, Eurotech Soccer Academy Residential Summer Camps, Atlanta, Chicago, New Orleans, and Washington DC 2016-Present
  • Goalkeeper Director, Culpeper Soccer Club, Culpeper VA 2014-2017

Camp Dates

Registration Opens: March 11 , 2022

Camp Dates: 

Monday  - Friday April 11- 15, 2022

Ages:  9-12yrs Monday- Tuesday April 11th-12th 5:30-7:30pm at Athey Sports Club
Ages:  13+ Wednesday-Thursday April 13-14th 5:30-7:30pm at Athey Sports Club




Camp Info

Camp will consist of:


  • Understanding of every position 
  • Understanding of tactical and technical training
  • Stay in their position when playing
  • Passing with the inside of both feet
  • Shooting with laces
  • Keeping ankle locked and toe up for passing, ankle locked and toes down for shooting 
  • Ability to shield the ball 
  • How to do a proper throw in 
  • Restarts, like goal kicks, corner kicks, and kickoff
  • How to communicate on the field with other players 

Soccer Camp Itinerary

Camp 9-12yrs Day 1

  • Technical development- game situations- passing, receiving and trapping
  • Tactical positioning analogy
  • Game conditioning
  • Passing movement drill
  • Keep away drill

Camp 9-12yrs Day 2 

  • Warm-up with the ball
  • Shooting
  • Application in the technical circuit training
  • Game situation, developing marking and attacking abilities 1v1
  • Introduction and development of the team compactness
  Camp 13+ Day1

  • Small game dribbling, pass ball control techniques
  • Game situations in a small field
  • Reinforcing passing
  • Short-long passing
  • Scrimmage

 Camp 13+ Day2

  • Technique development
  • Possession of the ball
  • 3v3 and foot communication
  • 4v4 movement of the team
  • Scrimmage
