Thank you for Coaching with NPSC's Volleyball league.  All head and assistant coaches must register with NPSC, complete a background check, and complete the safe sport training before the first practice. We require anyone working with the children (head coaches, assistant coaches, and team managers) to complete the Safesport training once a year. If you have completed this training previously, please look at you the date on your certificate. If it is more than a year old, you will need to take the refresher course. If you have never taken the Safesport training, please follow these steps:

• Select the course understanding mandatory reporting

All head coaches are required to attend the evaluations/draft.

Head Coaches Child will be placed as the 1st round pick
Assistant coaches' child will be placed as the 2nd round pick. 

Any players who do not attend the evaluations will be hat picked.

 
*** Note each season we will hold a draft for teams. Players will not be allowed to request to return to a team.***           

Practice: 
5 minutes warm up and stretch
10 -15 minutes - serves
15-20 minutes skill/drills
Last 15 minutes let them scrimmage with instruction as they go.

Week 1 - Get to know your players, have they played before, new to the sport, what is their skill level?   Go over the rotation.  Work on Passing - form, fundamentals, moving their feet to the ball.  

Week 2 - Communication.  Serves, explain the serving procedure on our recreational volleyball page. 

Week 3 - Add Hitting fundamentals

Week 4 - Add Setting fundamentals

Week 5-8 - continue to work on form and helping with the different skills

Note: When doing your line up for games, try to mix the players that might have played with the new players.
