ACHIEVING VISION 2026
1. How Do We Build Trust and Transparency?
a. Provide monthly sport-specific budget reports to our committee heads so that they always know the financial state of their programs.
b. Develop a communication plan that enables regular communication with members about the Club’s direction, challenges, and successes using a variety of media (social media, email, video messaging).
c. Publish schedules for registration, team assignments, uniform deadlines, and beginning/ending of seasons on our website at least 6 weeks in advance.
2. How Do We Develop Financial Sustainability?
a. Implement a robust expense tracking system that allows us to identify opportunities for administrative and program cost savings.
b. Establish a Fundraising Committee that develops diversified revenue streams through fundraising, sponsorships, and membership growth.
c. Evaluate programs for cost efficiencies while ensuring the quality of services.
3. How Do We Increase Member Engagement and Satisfaction?
a. Create a matrix of our programs and activities to ensure that we cater to a wide range of interests and skill levels.
b. Establish regular feedback channels (customer satisfaction surveys, volunteer coaching surveys, in-person presence by Director-level staff and/of Board Members at activities) to understand and address member needs.
4. How Do We Create Excellence in Sports and Development?
a. Invest in coaching, facilities, and resources to support athletic excellence.
b. Create closer ties between our recreational and travel sports programs by instituting a draft process among all recreational sports and proactively identifying recreational players who could benefit from the travel sports program.
5. How Do We Build Community and Inclusivity?
a. Target four (4) specific community relationships in which the Club needs to invest in the next 12–18 months.
b. Ensure the club is accessible and welcoming to all, regardless of background or ability by facilitating scholarship opportunities for low- to middle-income families, supporting the Fauquier County Parks and Recreation voucher program, and supporting initiatives that bring athletes with disabilities into sports programs (e.g. TOPS).
6. How Do We Innovate and Modernize?
a. Leverage technology to enhance operations, communication, and member experiences.
b. Continuously evaluate and adapt to emerging trends in sports and nonprofit management.
HISTORY
Founded in 2021 through the merger of the Fauquier County Soccer Club and Warrenton Youth Sports Club, NPSC was created to unify and expand recreational sports opportunities in our community. Guided by our mission to promote wellness through sports, we have grown rapidly to serve a diverse and ever-expanding population.
- Initially offering youth basketball, soccer, and volleyball programs, we quickly identified the need to broaden our offerings to include adult recreational volleyball to meet community demand. In Spring 2023, we merged with the Fauquier Youth Flag Football League, adding flag football to our roster. This was followed by the introduction of a cheer program in Fall 2024. These additions have enabled us to serve individuals of all ages and interests while maintaining our core focus on youth development. Today, NPSC serves thousands of participants annually, encouraging and supporting healthy lifestyles and providing opportunities for physical activity across the lifespan.
- In 2024, NPSC significantly strengthened its management, hiring an Executive Director and developing multiple strategic leadership initiatives, including organizational efficiency improvements. These efforts have solidified our ability to provide high-quality programming and maintain financial viability. We have an extensive, multi-year history of service delivery, consistently meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
Programs & Services: Addressing Community Needs
- The northern Piedmont region has experienced significant population growth in recent years, heightening the demand for accessible recreational opportunities. Simultaneously, the need for affordable and inclusive programs has become increasingly urgent, particularly for underserved families who face barriers to participation. NPSC addresses this gap by providing low-cost programs that emphasize physical health, social connection, and personal development.
- Our programs go beyond sports; they cultivate life skills such as leadership, resilience, and teamwork. For adults, programs like our co-ed volleyball league create opportunities for social engagement and active living, helping to combat isolation and sedentary lifestyles.
