At NPSC, we know that many families are exploring travel soccer for the first time, and we want the process to feel welcoming, informative, and supportive. This year, we’re introducing a new and more flexible approach to identifying young players with travel-level potential. Rather than relying only on traditional one-night tryouts in April, our coaching staff will use multiple opportunities throughout the spring to meet and evaluate players who may be ready for the next level. Because our recreational program is the primary pathway into travel soccer, NPSC coaches will spend time throughout the season attending recreational practices and games to observe players in a natural environment. Our coaches will also attend sessions of the Pre-Travel Academy, which is designed to help young players build the skills and confidence needed for travel soccer. In addition, our staff will host Discovery & ID Sessions during the spring. These sessions give selected players the opportunity to join a travel team practice, allowing them to experience the pace and environment of travel soccer while our coaches get to know them better. The process will conclude with a traditional tryout session in early May (see the schedule below). Families are encouraged to attend, especially if your player is curious about travel soccer or interested in learning more. Our goal with this approach is simple: to give more young players the opportunity to be seen, to help families better understand what travel soccer involves, and to ensure that players who are ready for the challenge have every chance to be identified and supported. If your child enjoys soccer and is excited to grow in the game, we encourage you to come to tryouts and explore the travel program with us. ⚽

At Northern Piedmont Sports Club (NPSC), both recreational and travel soccer give players a chance to enjoy the game—but they offer very different experiences depending on what a player is looking for. Travel soccer is for players who want more training, stronger competition, and a greater commitment to developing their skills. NPSC travel teams are formed through a tryout process and bring together players who are eager to challenge themselves and grow as athletes. NPSCS travel teams train more frequently than recreational teams and have USSF-licensed and experienced coaches. Our travel teams also compete against clubs from across the region, creating an environment that helps players improve technically, tactically, and mentally. For many players, travel soccer becomes one of the most rewarding parts of their youth sports experience—building lasting friendships, developing resilience, and learning to compete as part of a committed team. NPSC Travel Soccer Tryouts begin April 13 and run for two weeks . If your player loves the game and is ready for the next step in their development, register today to come out and experience the excitement of NPSC travel soccer. ⚽

At Northern Piedmont Sports Club, we believe youth sports should be accessible, affordable, and close to home. NPSC delivers outstanding value for families across Fauquier County by providing high-quality programs right here in our community. With practices and games held locally, families spend less time traveling and more time enjoying the game. Convenience matters, and NPSC is proud to offer a trusted, hometown option for youth sports. NPSC is truly a one-stop-shop for year-round programming. From recreational leagues and travel soccer to camps, clinics, and special events, we create opportunities for athletes of every age and skill level. Families can stay with one organization throughout the year, enjoying a consistent experience without the hassle of searching for multiple programs. Want to try a new sport? Fantastic! NPSC has four you can try out: basketball, flag football, soccer, and volleyball. Not sure you want to commit to a league? No problem! NPSC has camps and clinics available during the summers and (coming soon!) offerings in the spring and fall to give kids a chance to see how they like a sport. With NPSC, there is something for your child to do that is fun, safe, affordable, and local all year round! Continuous improvement is at the heart of what we do. Each season we look for ways to better serve our players, parents, and coaches. A great example is our adoption of PlayMetrics, an all-in-one digital platform that streamlines registration, communication, scheduling, and payments. This investment reflects our commitment to modern, customer-friendly systems that make participation easier and more organized for busy families. By listening to feedback, improving processes, and enhancing the overall experience, NPSC works hard to raise the standard of youth sports in our community. Quality, convenience, and a focus on getting better every year make NPSC an exceptional value—and the best choice for youth sports in Fauquier County. Come play with us this spring!
