We are excited to announce a new opportunity for our players and families for the Winter 2026–2027 season! This season, NPSC will join the newly established Northern Virginia Youth Basketball Alliance (NVYBA).
The NVYBA brings together independent youth basketball leagues from across Northern Virginia to create additional opportunities for advanced players to compete against teams from neighboring communities. The goal is to provide players with meaningful competition while keeping them connected to their local recreational basketball programs.
Through this new alliance, NPSC teams will have the opportunity to play new opponents, experience different styles of play, challenge themselves, and continue developing both on and off the court. It is an exciting next step for players who are ready to take on a greater level of competition while continuing to grow within our program.
What Is the NVYBA?
The NVYBA is designed to complement existing in-house youth basketball programs by providing an additional level of competition for advanced players. Participating leagues will continue to operate their own programs while working together to give players opportunities to compete against teams from throughout the Northern Virginia region.
What Can Players Expect?
This season, NPSC participants can look forward to:
- 8 NVYBA regular-season games, followed by championship competition.
- New competitive experiences against teams from neighboring communities.
- Opportunities to identify areas for growth while gaining valuable game experience.
- A continued focus on fundamentals, basketball IQ, decision-making, teamwork, and player confidence.
- An environment that encourages players to challenge themselves, compete, and have fun while developing their skills.
We are excited about what this new alliance will bring to our players and families. The NVYBA represents another opportunity to expand the basketball experience for our athletes while keeping the focus where it belongs — helping young players grow, compete, and enjoy the game of basketball.
