Gary Burrell
16U National Head Coach
COACHING BACKGROUND
A Northern Virginia native and proud father of four, Coach Gary Burrell began his coaching journey in 2022 when his daughter’s NPSC team needed leadership. What started on the recreational courts quickly developed into a passion for developing young athletes, building confidence, and creating competitive, high-performing teams.
Coach Burrell contributed to the success of NPSC’s 15U travel team during the 2023–2024 season before stepping into the head coaching role with the 16U team for the 2024–2025 season. Under his leadership, the team earned 4 Gold Bracket finishes across nine tournaments, establishing a strong foundation of competitive success.
During the 2025–2026 17U season, Coach Burrell continued to build on that success, leading the team to 5 bracket wins across nine tournaments, in Gold, Silver, and Bronze divisions.
In addition to his club coaching experience, Coach Burrell also coaches at the high school level for
Liberty HS, working with the Varsity, JV, and Freshman teams. This experience has allowed him to work with athletes across multiple levels of development while helping build a strong program from the freshman level through varsity competition.
Coach Burrell is excited to begin preparing for the 2026–2027 season, where he will lead the 16U National Team in the Open Division. His focus remains on developing well-rounded athletes, creating a competitive team culture, and helping players reach their full potential both on and off the court.
