Welcome to Northern Piedmont Sports Club's Winter Basketball League!

NPSC's Winter basketball league is for boys and girls ages 5 through High School. We work to develop each players basketball skills, sportsmanship and self esteem. Our goal is to develop future generations of basketball players who represent the game, themselves and the community with the highest level of character. Our league will focus on personal improvement, game knowledge and decision making, and team play.

NPSC's winter basketball league will have the following age divisions;

Co-edBoysGirls

NPSC's winter basketball game format is 5v5 with a mx of 10 players to a team

NPSC's winter basketball season will run from December - February.
Teams will practice 3 weeks before the first game. Practices will be 1 hour a week at locations throughout Fauquier County.
Games will be played Saturday's at different locations throughout Fauquier County

Scores will need to be kept for teams with players 9+ y/o. Scoresheets can be found [HERE] and information on how to put scores in can be found at the Recreational Coaches Corner [HERE].

Draft

NPSC will use a draft to place players onto teams. All players in the 9+ age group must attend evaluations so Coaches can have the best information to draft teams.
If a player is unable to attend the draft, they will be hat picked onto teams.

The 5-8 age groups will not be drafted, they will be assigned to teams.  NPSC is not taking coach/teammate requests for any age group.

Players in the 9+ age group at evaluations players will be assigned a number. They will be required to wear this number for the entire evaluation. Coaches will evaluate players based on the following criteria;

Ball handling/dribbling
Passing
Shooting
Defense

Coaches will be given the list of all the players who attend evaluation with the scores from the above criteria along with practice area request.

Once a player has been assigned to a team NPSC will not move players around. It is very important to list any days of the week you are not able to practice in your registration. NPSC will not accept any request for carpooling or playing with friends in the 9-10 and older divisions.

Uniforms

NPSC's Winter Basketball League uniforms will consist of a NPSC royal blue and white reversible jersey.  Jersey must have a players number on both side. It is very important if you already have a uniform that you enter your players jersey number in correctly. We will assign open numbers to players who are ordering a new jersey.

Basketball Jerseys cost $45. These are not included in the cost. If you have a jersey from the Winter or Summer 22' season they can be reused.

Dressing for game day:  Home team will always wear Blue, and Away will always wear White.
Players will need to bring their equipment, such as basketball, water bottles and proper footwear for their sport.
Basketball consists of reversible jerseys.
