Field Hockey Winter Clinics

This winter NSPC will be continue offering Field Hockey to our members!

Our Winter clinics will be run indoors at our gym in Warrenton for player in grades 1 - high school at our NPSC Gym. The focus in our clinics will be teaching the fundamental skills including passing/receiving, positioning, and shooting. In addition, players will learn offensive and defensive techniques and strategies.

Age groups will be for girls in the following;
Grade 1-5
Grades 6-12

Clinic days and times:
January 4, 11, 18, 25 -February 1, 8,15, 22
Wednesday 7:00-8:00 Grades 1-5
Wednesday 8:00-9:00 Grades 6-12

Make up dates: March 1 and March 8

Equipment

Equipment Needed:

All players will need the following equipment

mouth guards
field hockey stick
shin guards
gloves
comfortable playing shoes
masks are optional

Grade 1-5: 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Grade 6-12: 8:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Trainer

Trainer Andrew Ssekikubo

Coach Andrew has been coaching field hockey the last two years at the high school level, and has been attending camps and taking courses about the sport. In addition to coaching field hockey Andrew has also been coaching soccer for 6 years from the youth level to the high school level. His goal is to set high standards for the players so they can learn to push themselves, their teammates and have fun at the same time. Andrew is currently the varsity head field hockey coach at Thomas Jefferson High School and he has also been coaching there for the past two seasons as the junior varsity head coach.
